Ms. Shirley Lovitt, 63, of Leland, NC passed away peacefully on October 12, 2023 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born in Lee County, July 11, 1960, the daughter of the late Wilford Wallace Patterson and Shelby Jean (Spivey) Patterson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Debra Jean King of Ash, NC; niece, Crystal Malpass Anthony, and nephews John Hondros and Wallace Patterson, III.
She is survived by sons: Neil Allan Lovitt (Belva) of Clinton, NC, and Thomas Raeford Lovitt Jr (Brianna) of Wilmington, NC; daughter, Jennifer Marie Lovitt (Austin) of Wilmington, NC; a brother, Wallace Patterson (Jennifer) of Wilmington; a sister, Theresa Hondros of Wilmington; seven grandchildren, Lacey Bueno, Taylor Deleone, Anna Lovitt, Trey Lovitt, Ava Lovitt, Lexi Lovitt and Kali Lovitt; nieces: Denise, Kimberly, Samantha, Emma, and nephews: Roland, Justin, Michael, Timothy and Austin.
Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She would never turn her back on anyone who needed help and was a mom to many.
A Graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park, at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023.
