Roger George Rudolph died peacefully on May 25, 2021 in Wilmington, NC surrounded by family, John Wayne movies and Golden Oldies music. Roger was born in Lincoln, NE on August 24, 1941 to Katherine and George Rudolph.
He married the love of his life, Jean Rudolph on June 23, 1962 in Lincoln, NE.
He was the first in his immediate family to attend college at Nebraska Wesleyan University where he graduated with a degree in chemistry. After teaching chemistry in Red Oak, Iowa for a few years, he returned to Lincoln where he continued his education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, culminating in his graduation with a PhD in Analytical Chemistry. He went on to work for DuPont as Research Chemist for the next 30 years.
In 1975, Roger and His family moved to Wilmington, NC, where he resided until his death. Throughout his years here, he was an avid supporter of Nebraska Football, Go Big Red!, the Winter Park Optimist Girls Softball program and Junior Achievement. He was a man with a unique vision, endless devotion and unwavering support and love.
He will be missed beyond measure and remembered with love, laughter and of course a sarcastic quip now and then.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Rudolph; daughters, Kristine Rudolph, Teresa Davis and husband Keith Davis and Sheree Rudolph; grandsons, Tanner Davis and Logan Davis; siblings, Susan Stoehr and Paul Rudolph and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial be sent to Pine Valley UMC in his honor to continue God's work.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pine Valley United Methodist Church, 3788 Shipyard Blvd in Wilmington, NC on June 26, 2021 at 11:00 am, followed by a reception.
