Robert Bob Harvey Weinstein MD

Robert H. (Bob) Weinstein, 73 of Rocky Point, NC passed away January 21, 2016 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center in Wilmington, NC. He was born on July 7, 1942 to the late Sol M. Weinstein and Mildred M. Gershon.

Bob graduated from The University of Missouri and also received his MD from the University Of Missouri School Of Medicine. He currently owned Crystal River Psychiatric Group in Wilmington and practiced psychiatry for over 42 years. He was also past chairman of the Department of Psychiatry 4 times at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

He is preceded in death by his wife Jenny Woodson Weinstein and his parents, also many aunts, uncles and additional pets.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Samantha Weinstein Tolbert and her husband Samuel Tolbert of Evans, Georgia and his stepson Fred Osborne of South Florida. He is also survived by his grandson Noah Weinstein and granddaughter Shayna Poggi also of Evans, Georgia. Bob leaves behind 3 beloved dogs, Jasmine, Buddy and Harold.

Bob was a long time member of B`nai Israel Synagogue, he also served as past president and was an integral part of the leadership team.

He was a self-proclaimed curmudgeon, noted humorist and lover of the arts. Bob passionately care for and enjoyed the Cape Fear River.

A funeral service will be held on January 22, 2016 at B`nai Israel Synagogue at 12 noon with interment to follow at B`nai Israel Cemetery.
