He was born on July 16th, 1928 in North Irwin, Pennsylvania to Frank and Anna Chevalier.
He was predeceased in death by his parents, his sister Thelma, brothers Charles, Donald, Ronald, James and two infant brothers.
Bob is survived by the love of his life, Louise Hobbs Chevalier; daughter, Paula Ward (Jeff), son, Robert, grandsons Jason Green, Burke Chevalier (Ashley), great granddaughter Janelle and her two brothers. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Leslie and husband Dr. Charles Windle of The Villages, Florida. He is survived by Rubi and Jim Howard, son Anthony and his family, their daughter Amanda and son Noah. A special family to both he and Louise.
Bob entered the Department Store business in 1948. He managed stores in several different states for the W.T. Grant Company. He was transferred to Wilmington with Kings Dept. Store in 1972. He and Louise loved the Wilmington area and Bob loved the great access to ocean fishing. They decided they wanted to spend their lives together in this area.
When Kings closed Bob went to work for Wilsons Grocery Stores, Hannaford and Lowes Food stores until 12/13/2013.
He was a Master Mason and was Master of St. Johns Lodge #1 in 1991, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was Worthy Patron of AREME EASTERN STAR CHAPTER #372. In 2005/2006 he was Worthy Grand Patron of The GRAND CHAPTER OF NORTH CAROLINA ORDER OF THE EASTERN STAR.
He was Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in 1998/1999. He enjoyed and loved each of the organizations and was proud to serve them especially for their benevolent work in the community.
Bob and Louise were members of Winter Park Presbyterian Church where he served on the Board of Deacons.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Services with Pastor David McDonald and Rev. Emile Harley of Winter Park Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Masonic services.
