Pearl Hodge Hunter

Pearl Hodge Hunter was born April 21st 1927, she grew up in a family of three brothers and two sisters in Sumter South Carolina. She is survived by her two children Patricia Hunter Jones and David Russell Hunter Jr., son in law Craig Jones and daughter in law Sondra Hunter. She was also survived by her two sisters in law June and Helen Hodge, as well as nieces and nephews. She was blessed with two grandchildren Garrett Hunter Jones, and Lindsey Hunter Jones. Spending time with her family gave her much happiness. She was preceded in death by her husband David Russell Hunter.

She was an avid gardener and loved shopping for and planting new flowers every spring. She was an active member of Masonboro Baptist Church for 52 years and loved her church family greatly. She has also lived in the same house for 52 years and had several close friendships with neighbors that were like family. She passed away peacefully on June 1st 2015 to go to her heavenly home. There will be a family visitation on Wednesday June 3rd from 6-8pm at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, Oleander Dr. The Funeral will be held Thursday June 4th at 11:00am at Masonboro Baptist Church Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens. Flowers will happily be received, or a memorial gift can be made to either Lower Cape Fear Hospice, or Masonboro Baptist Church.
