Mattie O Paulter

Mrs. Mattie Orlena ‘’Lena’’ King Paulter “ 100 “ of Castle Hayne, NC was called home to the Lord and received her wings on December 19, 2023.

She was born on December 7, 1923 to the late Edward and Mattie King of Wilmington, NC. She was married to her late husband Samuel Joseph Paulter for 51 years before his passing.

She was a homemaker and a loving wife to her late husband, as well as a devoted mother to her seven children, and wonderful grandmother to her 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and a great great-grandchild. She loved going to church and participating in the many ministries of the church, especially when it came to cooking and baking for various events. She was a bible schoolteacher and enjoyed helping the children in many activities.

She is preceded in death by her husband Samuel Joseph Paulter, son Daniel Paulter, grandson Salvatore Paulter , two brothers: William King and James King,

four sisters: Emma Byrd, Cora Pater, Margaret Eason, Sarah “Loretta” Rowell.

She is survived by her six children: Louis Samuel Paulter (Sharon), Judith “Judy”Bork, Elaine Holm (James “Jim”), John Paulter, Thomas Paulter (Maria), Ronald Paulter (Heidi).

Her 18 grandchildren: Sandy Paulter, Wayne Paulter, Jill Paulter, David Bork, Michael Bork, Christopher Bork, Kimberly Tapia, Jennifer Holm Wyatt, Joseph (Joey) Holm, Nicole Locklear, Jessica Wilson, Joey Paulter, Michelle Paulter, Stephanie Paulter, Michael Paulter, Brian Paulter, McKenzie Paulter, and Ryan Paulter . She has 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
