Mary Pigott Sawyer

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brothers: Warren Pigott, Frank Pigott and Samuel Pigott Jr. and sister Sylvia Pigott.

She is survived by Edmund Sawyer, loving husband of 65 years; son, Wayne Sawyer and daughter in law Silky Sawyer; daughter, April Watson and son in law, Charles Watson; brother, Paul Pigott and wife, Wanda Pigott; sister, Ann Moore; grandchildren; Nathan Sawyer, Jeremy Sawyer, Eric Register, Raymond Watson, Brittany Pierce; great grandchildren, Madison Sawyer, Georgia Watson, Leia Pierce, Oliver Watson, Tyler Register and Carley Register, along with several nephews.

Mary was a loving wife, Mama, Sister, Grandma and Friend. To know her is to love her. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She often reminisced about her time growing up on Spofford Mills and spending time in Shallotte.

A visitation will be held from 1-2pm, Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Freedom Baptist Church with the Funeral Service following with Pastor Dodd Mays officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Pall Bearers will be her grandchildren and nephews.
