Maggie T. Aycock

Maggie Thelma Aycock, 91, entered into rest on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Woodbury Wellness Center surrounded by her family. She was a member of Ogden Baptist Church. Maggie also was very active with the Ogden Rescue Squad, serving her community for 30 years as a dispatcher and going on rescue call. She was a contributor to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Mrs. Aycock was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Aycock.

She is survived by her sons, L.D. Aycock and Bill Aycock, both of Wilmington; daughters, Iris Malady of Wilmington, Joyce (Kent) Stout of Wilmington, Brenda Stone of Wilmington, Carol Poole of Wilmington, and Lynn Orr of Burgaw, NC; brother, Thurman Lanier of Chinquapin, NC; 11 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 at Ogden Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Justice officiating. Interment will be in Oleander Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Aycock’s grandsons and great grandsons.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 14, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
