Bruce was born on August 4, 1934 in Jersey City, NJ and preceding him into the Kingdom were his parents, Arthur Bradford, Mary Bradford Scala; step-father, Edward Scala, and brother, Brian Bradford.
After attending Regis High School in New York, Bruce joined the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was discharged in 1955 and attended Newark College of Engineering (now NJIT) where he was accepted into Phi Eta Sigma in his first year. He graduated as a BSEE with honors in 1959. He worked until retirement in 1996 primarily in sales management of high technology semiconductors to major electronic firms. Bruce was a regular communicant at St. Mark Catholic Church and was a resource for the “Safe Harbor program.”
After retirement, Bruce and his family enjoyed many days of boating locally and was an avid photographer. He also served as President of the Stratton Village Home Owners Association.
Bruce is survived by his devoted wife, Adelaide, of 49 years; children, John Bradford of Wilmington and Eve Kroepke(Bill) ; grandchildren, Bradford Kroepke and Katelyn Kroepke all of Oakland, NJ; brother, Edward Scala of West Orange ,NJ; sisters: Brenda Blot, Judith Boder, Linda Menut all of Red Bank, NJ and Diane Holm of Middletown, NJ and many nieces, nephews residing in New Jersey.
The family will receive friends at a Vigil Service from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Sunday December 29, 2013 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Monday December 30, 2013 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1011 Eastwood Road, Wilmington, NC, 28403. The right of Committal will follow in the church Columbarium with Military Honors. A light repast will follow at Masonboro Forest Club House, 4900 Nicholas Creek Circle, Wilmington, NC 28409.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
