I’m heartbroken to hear of Byron’s passing.  He was very conscientious about staying in touch with his friends and family and was so looking forward to the fellowship at Cape Fear Church’s homecoming.  May we all be blessed with sturdy memories of a life so beautifully lived and a soul so deeply loved.

James (Byrdman) was a guy you would never forget. always a handshake and a smile. I worked with and known James over 30 years..so sad for your loss. God’s Speed and RIP my old friend. You will be missed by all of us.

I had the privilege to get to know Mr. James "Birdman" when he came to work at Advance Auto in Castle Hayne. I trained Mr. James and had the opportunity to get to know him. We stayed in touch after he left and last talked 2wks ago. I will be praying for his family. Rest Easy Mr. James ❤️

So sorry to hear of Birdman's passing. I met/worked with him at the Harris Nuclear Plant or it might have been at BNP as a shared resource . He always went out of the way to say hello. We had some great chats. I can't recall exactly how we first met. What I can say is once you met him, it was a lasting impression.

“B” Byrd was my Buddy.  We spent so much time together talking about everything under the sun. What a character !! We always talked about our finds and would often throw a yard sale together and spend the day haggling with people. Complete strangers would start talking with B Byrd and the next thing you know they had spent 30 minutes in conversation. B Byrd never met a stranger ❤️

Always enjoyed working with Byrdman.  May his family be comforted during this time.

I had just spoken with him about a week before.  We were on vacation, he called and I couldn't answer, so we played phone tag for a day or so. He texted me "call me back" like it was urgent..when I finally got up with him...nothing urgent, just Byrdman wanting to chat. That was Byrdman, just wanting to keep up with folks he hadn't seen or heard from in a while. That's what made him special. RIP old friend, you will be missed by many!

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Byrdman. I have known him since the early 80's when we were on traveling crews at BNP. I always enjoyed visiting with Byrdman when our paths crossed after leaving BNP. My condolences to the family. Praying for peace and comfort for all. Byrdman will be missed but never forgotten.

Byron and I had talked a few weeks ago and he was looking forward to attending Cape Fear Presbyterian’s 80th Homecoming service.  He was an active member there in the late 70’s and early 80’s and we all thought a lot of him.  He was one friendly guy and was always interested in hearing about my family and folks he remembered from our church.  He will be sorely missed by many.  My condolences to his family and friends.

Fawn, Madison and family,
We are so sorry about Byron. He was a great friend. We had good times starting in the 70's, church, playing  softball, basketball for the church, going to the dirt track racing and just hanging out. He will surely be missed. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I’m so sorry about Byron, he had just reached out a couple weeks ago trying to get old friends together for homecoming at our old church! I had the privilege of working with Byron for many years at the Nuclear Plant in Southport. He was well known and respected. Surely he will be missed by family and friends. Gods Blessing  to the Family.

My sincere condolences to his family. We had fun playing church softball together years ago. We then worked many years together at CP&L/Progress Energy. Byrdman was always good at staying in touch and just taking time to catch up once in a while. He was a good man and a good friend and he will be sorely missed. Rest in peace my friend.

Byrdman, you are deeply missed but will always be remembered as the kind,  humorous, Christian man that has touched so many lives.  You, Fawn, and Madison are family to us.  There are no words to express our deepest sympathies to them.  So many hearts are broken now but we all know that you are with our Father in heaven and we will all celebrate there with you one day.  Fawn and Madison, know that you are in our prayers. We love you deeply.

Byrdman was a friend to all and he will be greatly missed.  But if you have ever spoken with Byrdman you know he’s now in. heaven.
