Hilda Buck

Hilda was born March 29, 1927 in Wilmington and was a daughter of the late Charles and Wilhelmina Burrer Seitter and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Snooks” Burns Buck; a son, Robert Burns Buck, Jr.; seven sisters, Wilhelmina Prince, Louise Goodman, Christine Cox, Orpha Stanland, Emma Baldwin, Ethel Delano and Marie Murphy; five brothers, Carl, Albert, Alfred, Herman and Richard Seitter.

Hilda was a graduate of New Hanover High School; life member of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church; member of the Hanover Seaside Club; past president of the Junior Sorosis and charter member of the Wilmington Woman’s Club.

Surviving are four daughters, Diane B. Stirewalt of Wilmington, Nancy B. Coble (John) of North Myrtle Beach, Jane B. Pearson of Wilmington and Anita B. Turner (Jeff) of Wilmington; a brother, Eugene “Gene” Seitter (Hazel) of Georgetown, SC; seven grandchildren, Rene S. Klotz (Andrew), Jason S. Stirewalt, John C. Coble, Jr., Miranda Pearson, Alanna Turner, Christina Turner and Marisa Turner; five great-grandchildren, Jason, Jacob, Lucy, Conrad and Collin.

Graveside funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2012 at Bethany Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 2237 Castle Hayne Road, Wilmington (Wrightsboro Community) with Pastor Sam Zumwalt officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Hilda’s memory to St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 612 South College Road, Wilmington, NC 28403.
