Gerald Christopher Burkhardt Sr.

Gerald C. Burkhardt Sr., “Jerry” age 75, of Carolina Beach, North Carolina passed away on November 22, 2022. He was born on March 11, 1947 to Edward Jeremiah Burkhardt and Beatrice Strickland Burkhardt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Rosemarie Suevecrup, brothers; Edward Burkhardt Jr. and Gene Burkhardt.

Gerald is survived by his wife Diann Burkhardt of the home, sons; Gerald Burkhardt Jr. and wife Susan of Charleston, SC and Jason Burkhardt of Wilmington, NC, his daughters; Julie Burkhardt and Courtney Burkhardt, both of Carolina Beach, NC, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren and sister Beatrice McCulloch of Charleston, SC and sister in laws; Betty Burkhardt and Dorothy Burkhardt both of Charleston, SC.

Jerry was a faithful servant of God, his mission in life as making people happy in any way possible. Jerry was the owner and operator of J&D Heating & Air. He was a retired Captain of the Carolina Beach Fire Department, Boy Scouts leader of Troops 222 and 221 of Carolina Beach.

A Visitation will be held from 10am-11am on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Coble Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel, 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington, NC. The Funeral service will follow the visitation with a catered reception afterwards.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful people who loved and cared for him.
