Franklin Delano Williams, lovingly referred to as Frank or Delton, went home to be with the Lord on the 12th of July, 2021. Frank is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Glyn) Williams, two sons, Daniel (Danny) Brooks Williams and wife Lisa, Franklin (Rodney) Roderick Williams and wife Angela, four grandchildren, Ashley Brown, Jonathan Williams, Kimberly Williams, and Melissa Williams, and one great-grandchild, Brooklyn Brown. Born in 1941 in Darlington, South Carolina to Brooks and Rosie Williams, Frank was preceded in death by seven siblings; Maggie Williams, Francis Williams, Henry Roscoe Williams, Elizabeth Williams, Therman Allen Williams, Bruce Williams, and McDonald (Donnie) Williams.
Frank was a devout Christian and family man. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren every chance he had. He worked for years owning his own home repair and construction businesses before going to work with his son and working on many large jobs in North Carolina. Frank was also a professional musician, recording his studio album “I Believe Jesus Did It All For Me”. He traveled to many churches along the East Coast singing and playing his instruments to spread the gospel and minister the love of Jesus Christ. Music was Frank’s ministry and passion in life, one that he loved to share with his family, and he played in the worship band at Springview Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC, of which he was a member until his passing.
Frank brought a smile to the face of everyone he met. He was blessed with a beautiful voice and a kind nature that made him friends everywhere he went. In his final years Frank never lost his shine. Despite being hindered by a stroke he continued to worship the Lord through music, tend to his gardens for which he had a green thumb that produced bounties of citrus and produce, spend time with his family, and bring smiles to the faces of everyone he met. Frank passed peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, and will forever be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and Christian.
The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Coble Funeral and Cremation service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The funeral service will be at 11:30am on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Springview Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church on 801 N. College Rd, Wilmington, NC 28405. Pastor Rodney Knowles and Rev. JD Simmons are officiating. Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Frank’s honor to Springview Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church, 801 N College Rd, Wilmington, NC 28405.
