In addition to both parents he was preceded in death by his brother Earl Ray Watson.
Mr. Watson proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He retired after 35 plus years from Overnight Transportation. He loved fishing, Pittsburgh Steelers, Tarheels, L.A. Dodgers, a fan of Bill Elliott and Nascar. He loved his family and was loved dearly by them.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lois Jeanette Watson of the home; children: Debra Dean and husband Terry of Leland, Frank Watson and wife Muriel of Boiling Springs Lakes, Michael Watson and wife Janna of Leland, NC , Gail Jernigan and husband Cliff of Castle Hayne, William Garrett of Wilmington, NC and Kimberly Blake of Leland; sisters: Rachel Corbett of Maco, Joyce Haskett of Maco and Jane Watson of Delco, NC; brothers: Buddy Watson and wife Vicki of Delco, NC, Eddie Watson and wife Debbie of Maco, NC; grandchildren: Tyler White and wife Ashley, Hunter White, Cali Watson, Amanda Watson, Charlton Jernigan and wife Danielle, Hollie Ransom and husband Jason, Justin Garrett and wife Alexandria, Shaun Blake, Scott Blake, Dylan Watson, and Cale Watson and several great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2PM on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Coble Funeral Home at 1155 Shipyard Blvd, Wilmington with Pastor Larry Allen. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the funeral in Greenlawn Memorial Park with Military Honors.
