Bobby Lee Horner, known to his friends as Bob H., died Sunday April 2, 2017 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington. Bobby was born October 2, 1932 in Dyer County, Tennessee to John M. and Reba Maxwell Horner.
He is survived by his son, James Robert Horner (Kathy) and daughter, Teresa Frogge (Mitchell), five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, one brother Toby Marr Horner (Faye). His brothers, John, Jerry, Don, Marion, and sister Chloe preceded him in death.
Bob had been a resident of Wilmington since 1987, working for NAPA auto parts until his retirement in 1992. In 1993 he became involved with an organization that had literally saved his life and he began his journey into sobriety working as a manager of the local AA intergroup office.
He often said “we are all put on this Earth for a specific reason.” His constant wish was that he could help others find what he had found as he enjoyed the fruit of his sobriety.

The second will be held Wednesday April 5 from 9am to 11am. A funeral Service will be held 11 am Wednesday April 5, 2017. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
