Anna Dukes Wells

Ms. Anna D. Wells, 66, of Castle Hayne, NC died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at New Hanover Regional Hospital.

She was born in Craven County on October 21, 1944, the daughter of the late George Daniel and Mary Virginia Dukes.

She is survived by her companion, Joe Pickett and her children Susie Ann Price and companion Joe, Gerald Ray Pickett and wife Brenda, Pamela Starnes Pickett and Carol Fay Harrelson and husband Edward, all of Rocky Point, and Jonathan Benjamin of Castle Hayne and Josiah Hickman, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two sisters, Betty Jean Ezzell and Helen Malpass.

She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother and a friend to all. God gave us an angel. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Pickett Jr., Edward Ray Harrelson, James Nicholas Prosser III, Josiah Murray, Samuel Price, Jason DeBose. Honorary pallbearers: Frank Southern, Jonathan Benjamin, and Bobby Price Jr.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at Coble Ward-Smith, Oleander Chapel, and other times at the home. A funeral service will be Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 3 PM at Coble Ward-Smith, Oleander Chapel. Burial will be at the Pickett Family Cemetery.
