Robert Samuel Burnstine, 59, of Highland Park, passed away after a 2 year battle with BRCA-2 related pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved and proud father of Ryan Cason and Jack Burnstine, spouse of ex-wife Ginny Burnstine, and brother to Steven and Michael (Diana) Burnstine. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, David and Elaine Burnstine.
Bob graduated from the University of Michigan in business and Harvard Law School. He transitioned to work in the financial field, and loved it. He was an avid University of Michigan and Detroit sports fan. In this past year, he loved the success of Michigan and Lions football. He loved attending Ryan’s theatre performances and Jack’s sporting events. Bob lived life with integrity and strong values in a time where those values are rare. His love of family and friends, who were family to him, was unparalleled.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024, 1:00 PM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL 60091. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, IL. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the University of Michigan Burnstine Family BRCA Cancer Research Initiative or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
