Howard B. Green, 67. Beloved husband for 40 years to Lisa Naparstek Green; devoted father of Remy (Eli Sander) Green, Benjamin (Ru-Lee) Passman-Green, and Isaac (Rebecca Rieckhoff) Green; proud son of Mary Winton Green and the late David Green; cherished brother of Sara (Daniel Cohan) Green Cohan and Jonathan (Brenda Berry) Green; caring uncle of Elizabeth and Rachel Cohan, Haley, Maya, and Mason Green, and Caleb and Jordan Klein; loving son-in-law of Joyce (late Marvin) Naparstek and brother-in-law of Jennifer (David Klein) Naparstek Klein and David (Rusel Schultze) Naparstek; treasured friend, father figure, and colleague of many.
Howard was a graduate of Vassar College and Boston University School of Law (where he met his beloved Lisa). Howard was the CEO of Iceberg Enterprises, former president of Quartet Manufacturing Company, and a former practicing attorney. He was very active in service to the Jewish community of Chicago. He supported many arts and cultural organizations, including as the former Board Chair of the Old Town School of Folk Music. Howard was an avid cyclist, Chicago Cubs fan, and lover of Mexican food. He was fun-loving, passionate, compassionate, and entrepreneurial; open to the world but guided by timeless principles. He was an amazing dad who kept pace with his kids’ diverse paths. He will be deeply missed.
Friends and family will gather for a funeral service for Howard on Thursday, July 27th, at 12 PM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Boulevard, Wilmette, Illinois. Interment private.
