Good evening my Angel. I know you will never have a chance to read this but writing to you is part of my healing. A year ago today you left this earth and gained your wings. I know you have been watching over us all. There are reminders everywhere & I feel your presence near me. It’s been a rough year without you but knowing your mind is at peace helps me navigate the days I would have been sitting in your office as we shared so many laughs. I think of you daily, wondering what the year would have been like with you right down the hallway from me at work. The memes we would have shared, the stories of our puppies. The joy you have shown to know Tori was bringing a baby girl into the world. We leaned on each other as so much more than colleagues. You were my work bestie, a great friend & provider to your patients too. We all still talk about you & I feel sadness but the fact that your free from your demons & able to sore high above us spreading your wings to help us along this path, helps me more than you will ever know. I miss you dearly & always will. I’m wishing you a happy 1 year heavenly anniversary because I know you are at peace, smiling with so brightness. Loving you always my dear sweet friend.

Only now have I heard of her passing from the VA.  My heart is so incredibly broken for her family.  She was an incredible person and genuinely cared for the veterans that she sat with regularly.  She gave me hope, especially on the days when it felt like the walls were closing in.  I will absolutely miss her and I am at such a loss of words.   I hope that her family may find comfort in knowing how very much she meant to me personally.  I didn't just lose a provider, I lost a friend I could talk to.  She'll always be in my heart and I'll remember everything she told me.  Until Valhalla - MSgt / USMC (Ret)

Preksha was a good one, with a naturally kind spirit and joie de vivre.  I enjoyed hearing about her adventures, and she always had a pulse on what was happening around town. We would talk at lengths about travel, events, relationships, food and enjoyed how well rounded her knowledge and life was. She loved her husband and family, and was was constantly learning and growing. 
I will miss Preksha and raise an eternal lemon lavender cupcake to her! 


Dr. Arora-Hughes was an immense beacon of light that shone brightly on me through my care at the VA.   She gave me encouragement and emitted rays of hope despite meeting her once.  I looked forward to my upcoming  appointment with her, and I am saddened that it cannot be.  She was a kindred soul who was a guiding light in support of the healing of the mind.  I am deeply touched by her.   She is forever etched into my memory as someone who genuinely cared for everyone that she met.   My heart has been blessed with her warm and sincere spirit.   I will keep, remember, and honor her all of my days.  For the family I will hold you dear in my meditations for healing, support, and community embrace in your time of remembrance of such a lovely daughter, sister, wife, and friend.  I will miss her as no one can replace  such a wonderful and caring person.  My condolences are extended to everyone who knew, loved, and shared in the experience of such a beautiful, caring, gentle, positive person. She was a gift from the Creator to all of us.

I fondly recall our time in the hip hop dance class, and it brought me joy to connect with another Indian person in the class. Our brief but meaningful chats on Instagram sparked my interest in getting to know you better. You will be missed dearly.

I'm so shocked and saddened to hear about this. I knew Preksha in residency. I especially remember working closely with her as interns on the general medicine floors. She made coming into work fun. 
She was brilliant, humble, adventurous, and beautiful. Above all, she was one of the kindest people who had such an inspiring positivity that I admired so much. My deepest condolences to Will and the Arora family. Sending my thoughts and love to you all.

Preksha worked at VA psychiatry inpatient ward with me as the 1st year resident and worked as a psychiatrist at outpatient clinic after graduated from resident training.  She was a great psychiatrist She is one of the hardest working people I have ever met and devoted her life to others. She lit up a room with her beautiful smile just made you want to smile as well. She made a lasting impression. She was kind, patient, humble, and a bright light. Tremendously sad to hear of her loss. Sending her family, colleagues, patients, and loved ones strength and love. We will all miss you so much. Love you always.

Preksha was my supervisor this past residency year, though I always thought of her more as a friend and role model.  She helped me see things in a beautiful new way and made me feel truly cared about. I left all of our weekly meetings smiling and feeling empowered. She was a wonderful teacher, and an even better listener.  She was strong and sweet.  Intelligent and humble. Determined and kind.  I will always carry her with me. My heart and thoughts are with all who loved her.

I want to express my heartfelt sorrow and condolences at the sudden loss of Preksha.  Though I only worked with her for a short time at the VA , she made such a lasting , positive impression.

I am so devastated. The world has truly lost such a beautiful and special person. My time in chorus with both you and Becky was one of my favorite parts of UB and college would not have been the same without you. You were so kind, funny and witty. I still cannot believe that you are gone and I wish that I got to speak to you one last time. My condolences to your family.

I'm beyond devastated that I cannot simply call you up and send you corgi pictures. You were my best friend of undergrad, and I can't imagine growing old and not having you were. My broken heart sends warmth and comfort to all of us who loved and continue to love you. 

So very sorry to hear this.. she was a member at my fitness studio for several years- I got to know and love her as a person. She always came in with a smile on her face, and I always admired her as person for how smart, kind, and ambitious she was.

My sincerest condolences to the entire family and all loved-ones. She was a collaborative colleague, nice, and patient-centered.  Her presence will be missed. May you all find peace over time and comfort.

I remember holiday dinners and you were always the one that lit up the room. Your laughter was contagious. Your eyes could see through anyone’s soul. You were strong, kind, caring and compassionate, and we could all see what Will saw, this amazing and beautiful woman. Your friendship meant so much and we will all miss you so much. Love you always 

Preksha, you were a shining light throughout the halls of the VA. Your smile was contagious especially when you came in for your favorite snacks, to just hang out and chat. Your door was always open for a good laugh while we shared pictures of our fur-babies, gourds that you left in your office as long as you possibly could, because you didn't want to throw them out, making your office smell awesome and finally getting the ceiling fixed, our favorite foods, holiday traditions, as you so proudly hung your wreath I made on your office door and what you would be doing on your vacations. You were my shoulder to cry on when I lost Max & I was yours when you lost your Mother In Law. You were much more than just a colleague to me & my life is so much better for having you join me on this path. I am grateful to have known you, to have you as the proud friend when my kids would do great things & even when they drove me nuts. Whether you realized it or not, you were Victoria's cheerleader to her decision to attend college for psychology with a minor is psychiatry. You were such a wonderful inspiration to so many lives that you touched. My days will be saddened as your smile and greatness will no longer be shared with all of us but knowing that your beautiful wings are spreading over us all, comforts my soul as you are missed dearly. Fly high beautiful angel. You did great things here on earth but now your mind can rest easy. Much love always.

The night of our residency graduation. We had gone through so much together. Preksha was our fearless leader as our chief for 3rd and 4th year, as well as being a dear friend to us all. Missing her every moment.
