Lori Anne Moresco, 49, nurse practitioner, May 2, 1967 – April 8, 2017, died Saturday under hospice care in Buffalo General Medical Center. Born in Joliet, Ill., the former Lori Anne Perkins grew up in Romeoville, Ill., where she graduated from high school in 1985. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Daemen College. Mrs. Moresco, who specialized in internal medicine and rheumatology, had worked with Dr. Jihad Abialmouna in Tonawanda Medical Practice in Amherst for the past six years. She previously was affiliated with Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst and DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda. Her husband of 24 years, Mike, said patients appreciated her attention to detail and her advocacy on their behalf to insurance companies. “If she saw something that just wasn’t right, she’d investigate it,” he said. “She was always pushing for tests for patients.” She enjoyed decorating, cooking and entertaining. An animal lover who was especially fond of dogs, she was a supporter of the SPCA Serving Erie County. In addition to her husband, survivors include her mother, Jo Ann Perkins; two sisters, Cynthia Ulrich and Debra Ziemann; and a brother, William Gary Perkins. A service will be held at 5 p.m. Friday in Perna, Dengler, Roberts Funeral Home, 1671 Maple Road, Amherst.
