I’ve known Gurjot for my whole life. She was like an older sister to me, cheering me up, paying so much attention to me, always talked to me, and loved me so much. I cry to sleep because of how much I miss her, but I know she’s in a better place now. I wish I could have seen her one more time, and I wished she never died. She was so funny, always had a smile on her face, and just lifted the room. I want to be like her, I have so many memories of her that I want to tell my friends and more. She deserves the world. We will all miss you. I’m currently crying while writing this, but, I miss you forever Gurjot.

I am so incredibly sorry to hear of Gurjot's passing. I will always remember as being an outgoing, self-assured young lady who loved sharing her thoughts, views, and opinions. Her smile is one that I will surely never forget. I taught Gurjot for all four years of her time at Heim Middle, so I was able to watch her grow, mature, and come into her own throughout her time with us. She definitely made a memorable impact on everyone she met.  I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

My brother was very close with Gurjot, so I talked to her a few times. Anytime I could hear my brother talking to her, usually for hours and hours, he was always in a good mood and laughing away. I had never heard of a time where Gurjot made him upset. I had actually talked to her on their FaceTime call for a few hours a couple of times.  She was always incredibly sweet whenever I had talked to her. She always had good things to say about everyone. I remember for my brothers birthday she tried so hard to have a surprise party for him (it didn’t end up working out). When my family heard about her accident we were so worried. We couldn’t stop thinking about her. When we heard of her passing we were devastated. Seeing how her passing has affected so many people, it’s clear that she had such an impact on so many peoples lives. Gurjot, you will be greatly missed. We love you, rest easy❤️ 

Gurjot will always be the most sweetest person I will ever know. She always put a smile on people’s faces and if somebody was upset she’d know just the right words to cheer them up. She is and forever will be one of the most amazing people I could have ever met. She reminded me of a monarch butterfly, they are said to bring hope, joy, and positivity. I know for whoever knew her even if it wasn’t long they knew how much joy she brought. I wish I got to have a little more time with her because I know there was so much more to know about her. What I can say is I’ve known her long enough to know she was genuinely a wonderful, beautiful, outstanding girl and I’m so glad I got to call her my friend. The friend who never made me feel left out and who I could talk to about anything. I love and miss you Gurjot <3  you’ll forever be in everyone’s hearts

I knew Gurjot for all of forty minutes. My daughter Arianna had asked if I could take her friend home  that last week of summer school and of course I said yes . I have shuttled numerous kids over the years that would just sit quietly in the back. But Gurjot was different. Each day she thanked me profusely the minute she entered, again upon leaving and even found time to laugh and engage with my daughter and me along the way - about summer school, her new job and the upcoming semester.  Her light was so bright, her spirit so effervescent and her nature so undeniably soothing  and  gentle.  I am thankful that for those roughly 2400 seconds in time, Ari and me were blessed to bask in her radiant light. 

Gurjot and I had started getting to know each other better not too long ago, and based off of interactions we had, she was one of the sweetest people I knew. She always seemed to be very genuine, and she was always so kind whenever we spoke. Gurjot always brought a light to conversations we had, no matter what. She was there for me during certain things I went through, and I was there for her during certain things she went through. She meant, and still does mean a lot to me. I felt genuine joy when speaking to her, every single time. She had an affect on so many people, whether they knew her well or not. To be completely honest, I’ve never met anyone quite like that. It seems to be so rare that you find such an amazing person like her, and it’s truly a shame that what happened has happened. My heart goes out to her family, and anyone else who is affected by this. Rest peacefully, Gurjot, I love and miss you. ♡

I only met her once. She was very kind and caring, really pretty. I bet she had many friends and plenty of family members that loved her. Rip <3

Gurjot spread light and joy by her presence. I am the grandmother of one of her friends, and the first time we met she greeted me with such warmth it was as though we had always known each other. My heart goes out to her family. May her memory be a comfort.

Gurjot Kaur, where to begin. The person who I could talk about literally anything to. A person who I can talk to for limited hours on the phone. A person who i felt genuine joy talking to when I was upset. A person I considered apart of my family. A person who Was genuinely happy for me when I completed a life achievement. A person I actually felt I could be myself around and was never awkward around. Someone who would drop everything to help a stranger who wasn’t in the best mood. Someone who I would have conversations about her being an aunt to my kids. Someone I could playful bicker with without it turning into an actual fight. Someone  I considered to be of my favorite people I ever met, towards the end we weren’t talking as much but when we would talk it reminded me why I considered her to be my best friend. Someone who for any one of her friends birthdays, would go up and beyond with a paragraph telling them how much she loved them and how special they were to her. For a while she was one of the only people I would talk to. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have retained my sanity through covid. I’m going to miss our conversations, I’m gonna miss our hangouts, I’m going to miss you in general, it’s gonna be really tough to live life without you here, you were my support, you pushed me out of my comfort zone, you’d listen when I’d tell you problems but now I’m going to have to adjust to a life without you here. Gurjot, I love you so much even if i didn’t say it all the time, you changed mine and many other’s lives for the better, I could go on and on for days of how much our friendship meant to me, I never met anyone else like you and I never will meet anyone else like you, all of your friends and family are getting together tomorrow, that’s what you would’ve wanted, us to all to be united, I just so wish you were here for it, hopefully your watching over us, and I so hope I can see you again someday and we can continue are light hearted  interactions ❤️

My memories of Jyot are just a few but like so many others, I remember her being full of life and always smiling.  She had that lively spirit that made her so very memorable.  Deeply saddened and shocked by the loss of such a young kid.  Prayers for her soul and for her family.  RIP Jyot, the world will miss your lovely smile. 

Gurjot was one of those people you could never forget. I could talk to her for hours and she’d still be full of life and energy. I feel so lucky to be someone that was just apart of her life and got to make her laugh and see her smile. She was so eccentric and bubbly, she really glew  up a room even without trying. She told me that she looked up to me as  her  older brother and I was honestly so happy when she told me that because I looked at her as if she was my little sister, I always wanted to protect her and make her feel better. I will miss our 8 hour calls and our deep talks and our goofy talks, until we meet again, love pancake🥺💜 

Gurjot, you were and always will be a warrior. You have been through very tough times but never have those times been able to take the smile away from you. You had the talent of talking to anyone for a long time, even if you had met the person for the first time. You always hid your pain and sorrows just to listen to other peoples problems and comfort them. Regardless of how someone treated you or what you were going through, you were always kind to everyone around you. Even though at some points we thought you were a troublemaker, I'm happy we spent our childhood and most of our adulthood together but we regret not spending more time with you. Thank you for making our childhood so great! You left us too soon. I really wish there was something we could do to bring you back, even for five minutes if not for years. It seriously breaks our heart that you were taken so unexpectedly. Your memory will never leave us and live long in our hearts. We will always miss and love you. May your soul rest in peace.

I’ve never met someone so full of life. Gurjot acted fearless even with dread, committed and determined as if she needed to live so much in one day just in case there wasn’t a tomorrow. She was more worried about being herself than being embarrassed. Gurjot wanted to experience it all. She acted invincible like no one could tear her down, she always put herself out there. Gurjot is inspiring and that will make her life memorable beyond time. Her energy is unbreakable. I miss you, princess. 

Gurjot was always such a loving and caring friend to everyone she knew. It’s amazing how many smiles she put on everyone’s faces with her quirky jokes and laughs. On her 16th birthday, last minute plans were made to go to sky zone with a few friends, Gurjot was so excited to see all the small children and push them on the swing they had there. After sky zone she asked if we could celebrate her birthday. We went to dash’s and bought an ice cream cake and candles to have a small birthday celebration in the car. She was so happy that we celebrated even thought it was the middle of winter and freezing. There was so many great memories over our year of friendship, but I will forever cherish our 5 hour plus phone calls filled with nothing but laughter. My heart truly goes out to her family who has to deal with losing such a beautiful soul. Rest easy, you will be missed so much <3

Gurjot Kaur was a beautiful, sweet and kind girl. She was there for me when no one else was. She lifted everyone’s spirits and could make you smile even when your down. She had a light to her that made you believe that everything was going to be okay. I will miss her every single day, she was an incredible friend and she will forever be in my mind and my heart. My heart goes out to every single one of her family members. Rest peacefully my friend I love you. 

Gurjot was a great friend. She was inspiring and full of life. She was so caring and loving and I’m so proud to be able to say that she was my friend. 

Gurjot had a wonderful spirit to her. She was always so positive and outgoing. Throughout middle school, we spent a lot of class time talking to each other. I would hear endless stories about her wonderful family, and I spent lots of time helping her on projects in classes. She even made sure that I'd never forgotten that her birthday is January 5th!  Other students often picked on Gurjot, but her optimism and perseverance through it were inspiring. We haven't been very close in the last couple of years, but I got to watch her find a great group of friends and grow into a wonderful young woman. Gurjot will be truly missed, and my deepest condolences to her family.

I remember when I first met gurjot in harkness, I was at a low point and she talked to me and became my first friend in harkness. She later helped me become apart of her friend group and it was a good time. We laughed a lot did a lot of projects together and had a good time. She always told me I was good at guitar and that I could make it somewhere with Music. She always had passion for making people laugh and have fun and smile and to me that’s what made her a good person. She was so full of life and she always had something on her mind. She always asked me to teach her guitar and I tried too and it was fun teaching her. To say the least gurjot was a fantastic friend to have. She will be missed by a lot of people me included. And to say that she is my friend is something I will always be proud of~Caleb Kinmartin

Me and Gurjot didn’t talk much but when we did it was amazing how kind she was, and her positivity was inspiring nothing could bring her down. I remember one time we were talking and we were planning to hang out and go clothes shopping and she was so excited and enthusiastic about what she wanted she was a determined, bright, and all around great person. 

Gurjot was so sweet and had an amazing sense of humor. Though she was soft-spoken, she always included everyone so they wouldn’t feel left out. On my first day of freshman year, she sat next to me in class and made me feel so comfortable while being in an unfamiliar environment. Gurjot helped me pay attention in class through asking random questions. I remember every 5 minutes she would ask what time class would end lol. Though she and I stopped talking during my sophomore year, hearing about her loss on social media really hurt. Gurjot did not deserve this. She will always be remembered in my heart and by many more.  I hope her family finds peace within this tragedy. I’m sure Gurjot is resting happily wherever she is

I am very sorry for your loss.  Gurjot was a beautiful, sweet  young lady.  We are devastated to learn of her passing.    My daughter Gabrielle has fond memories of the younger days when she had played with her when she would stay at her grandma Marie’s.  We all are praying  for all of You.
