Lillian Braddy Stevenson, 92, departed this life Saturday, December 27, 2014 surrounded by loving family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Lewis Stevenson whom she was married to for 64 years, daughters Della Florence and Brenda Joyce Campbell, granddaughter Kathy Agpoia, and daughter-in-law Dorothy Stevenson.
Lillian leaves behind a large, loving family: daughters Peggy Redmond (Mike), Fannie Southworth (Wiley), Robert Lewis Stevenson Jr., Frances Stevenson, Betsy Buck (Charles) and 13 very devoted grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was a very loving, giving person who loved every one she met. She loved watching “Wheel of Fortune” which at age 92, she could beat us all! She loved everything from the tiniest bird to every stray cat in the neighborhood. Lillian loved spring time, beautiful flowers, God and most of all her children. Peggy who would travel great distances if mother needed her, Fannie who inherited her caring heart, Steve her devoted son who would stop at nothing to see that his mother was happy and comfortable, Brenda whose love was always that of a “little child”, Frances who always kept mother in the latest fashions and Betsy who was always the for conversation.
Lillian loved to read, loved her country music, loved her home, and loved nothing better than having her children around to cook a good meal, to keep her home nice, to laugh and to just sit and read the paper and chat over a cup of coffee in the morning.
The family would like to give a special heartfelt thanks to Sara Basden, mothers night time care giver, for her unconditional love, care, and support, as mother said “her little angel”! Also Nancy Graham for her love and care.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hospice who was always there when we needed them, and to Second Chance Ministries in Hamilton, NC.
There will a graveside service Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 12:00pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in Williamston, NC.
