William T. Denison, age 91, of East Lansing, formerly of The Villages. Florida, Higgins Lake, Michigan, and Lansing, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, one week after the passing of his wife of 71 years, Jacqueline Carol (Snodgrass) Denison.
Ted was born on November 16, 1931, in Lansing Township, Michigan. The son of Daniel Ovid and Ella Denison, he graduated from Williamston High School. He met Jacqueline Snodgrass and they married in 1952. Together they raised two daughters: Linda Sue (Dobias) and Karen Lee Denison. Shortly after Ted and Jacque’s wedding, Ted was deployed to serve in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Known as Bill at work, he was employed by the Oldsmobile division of General Motors, working his way up from a laborer at the Fisher Body plant, to a tool maker, then a tool designer, and ultimately an engineer. Known as Ted by his family and non-work friends, he enjoyed boating on Higgins Lake, water skiing, downhill and cross country snow skiing, sailing his HobieCat, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, woodworking, golfing and spending time with good friends.
Ted is survived by his daughter, Linda Sue (Larry) Dobias, sister Betty (Harry) Huguelet, many cousins, as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife of 71 years Jacqueline, their daughter Karen, his brothers (Donald, Jim, Robert, and Richard) and sisters (Mariam, Donna, Ila, and Jane).
A celebration of Ted’s life will be held in conjunction with that of his wife Jacque’s. Their ashes will be interred at Summit Cemetery in Williamston, beside their daughter Karen.
