Thomas W. Cassaday was born November 16, 1937 in Lapeer MI and passed away on January 2, 2013. Tom’s parents Allen and Anna owned the Gamble Store in Williamston where his curiosity of all things mechanical started him on a life-long path of building, repairing and re-engineering anything that had a motor as well as pursuing his love of motorcycles. His career started in the Army where he was an automotive instructor. He worked locally as an auto mechanic for many years retiring from the GM Proving Grounds in 1999. After retirement, he did what he loved repairing small engines in his workshop.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Anna and Allen Cassaday, his brother David and stepson Troy Eaton. He is survived by his wife Virginia (Baughan) Cassaday, sons Daniel (Jennifer), Steven (Holly) and Scott Cassaday, Christopher (Christine) Eaton; grandchildren Katie (Charles) Buckner, Maggie and Alexandra Cassaday, Drew and Caleb Eaton; great-grandchildren Averi and Audree Eaton.
The family will receive friends Thursday January 3, 2013 from 6-8pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes; 205 E. Middle St. Williamston MI. The memorial service will be Friday January 4, at 4pm at the funeral home.
