Ruth Ann Neil, 84, of Wheatfield Township, Michigan, passed away on November 28, 2023, in Locke Township, Michigan. She was born on July 12, 1939, to the late Benjamin family. Ruth was a loving and family-oriented individual who was known for her patience and selflessness. She was a wonderful mother and always cared for others more than herself.
Ruth is survived by her devoted spouse, Gerald Neil, and siblings Bob Benjamin and Claude Benjamin. She is also survived by her children: Steven (Patricia) Neil, Kathryn (David) Magers, Jeffrey Neil, Douglas (Julie) Neil, Timothy (Tammy) Neil, Joseph (Valerie) Neil, Cassandra (Kendall) Beeson, and Ashley Sprunger. Ruth leaves behind a legacy through her 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Ruth is preceded in death by her sister Mary (Melbourne) Griffes, and sisters-in-law Joyce and Penny Benjamin.
Ruth attended Williamston High School, where she completed her education in 1957. She then embarked on a career as a secretary for three years at the Michigan State University Police School. However, her true passion and talents were revealed when she became a dedicated homemaker. Ruth's attention to detail and nurturing nature made her the best at creating a warm and loving home for her family.
In her free time, Ruth enjoyed various hobbies, including gardening both vegetables and flowers, quilting, sewing, crocheting, and cooking. These activities brought her joy and allowed her to express her creativity.
Ruth was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she found solace and strength in her faith. Her devotion to her religion was an important aspect of her life.
Ruth Ann Neil will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends. May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
