May Gods love, comfort and strength bring peace to the Neil family. It is hard to lose a family member but knowing that it is not forever and that some day you will be joined together again hopefully will bring joy. I am sorry for your loss and will be praying for your family.

I was extremely disappointed to miss the announcement about the funeral and to miss being there.  I have loved the Neil family for many, many years. You hold a special place in my heart.  Although I haven't seen Ruth in years, she remains in my memory as a quiet, strong  and exemplary Latter-day Saint woman.  She had her priorities straight. Her dedication to the Lord and to her family were unquestionable and I admire her for that. May you, as her family, find peace in the gospel of Jesus Christ and the knowledge that she lives on, loves on and is waiting for you. Sending love and sweet memories.

Ruth Neil, Aunt Ruth to me, will be missed by many.  My thoughts and prayers are with Uncle Gerald and all the Neil children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who I know will miss their wife, mom, and grandma deeply.  Aunt Ruth is part of all of you and I hope your memories will help comfort and sustain you.  I know that Aunt Ruth loved and cared about you all very much.  That was apparent in my visits with her when she shared updates.  She wouldn’t spend much time letting me know how she was doing, but she lit up as she updated me on your lives.  

I have many fond memories of Aunt Ruth that span decades.  I remember fondly when I was excited that I had grown as tall as Aunt Ruth!  I barely grew beyond that mark, which Aunt Ruth and I chuckled about at times (sometimes sharing our aggravations with a world clearly made for people much taller than us).  As I thought of memories of Aunt Ruth, a clear theme emerged.  Aunt Ruth was always there for me; she was a consistent loving and supportive force in my life – both when I was growing up and as an adult.  

Aunt Ruth was there to celebrate good times and to offer her strength, love and support during some very difficult times in my life.  Aunt Ruth was always there to do whatever was needed – whether I needed a hug and a shoulder to cry on (it was extra nice that her shoulder was just the right height), words of encouragement, or help to accomplish key tasks (Aunt Ruth was not shy about voluntelling Uncle Gerald if specific items were in his wheelhouse) – Aunt Ruth never hesitated to help.  And she seemed to know when words of support and encouragement might help during tough times; leaving a voicemail or sending a text message at just the right time.  

Aunt Ruth’s love and support were unwavering.  I will always be grateful and will miss her very much.

I'm so sorry to hear of Aunt Ruth's passing. When I think of her I think of kindness, determination,  delicious food, and her willingness to help anyone in need. My deepest condolences to Uncle Gerald and my cousins.

So sorry for the loss of Ruth.  She was a wonderful example for all around her.  Love to all the family.

Sending my love and condolences to Bishop Neil and all the family. I remember Sister Neil as a sweet, calming influence and a true example of what it meant to be a Latter Day Saint women and disciple of Jesus Christ. She and her good husband have contributed so much in our church community.  I have fond memories of them from my childhood and youth when I lived in Michigan. May the peace that comes from the Lord rest with the Neil family.

I will always remember Ruth being there for my baptism. She made sure that I had a proper white outfit to be baptized in.  She lovingly went out of her way to come and comfort me and help me, because I had no idea what to do. She put me at ease like a mother would do. I had never met her before, so her kindness and willingness to help me really touched my heart.

In my experience, my memories of Ruth have been a fondness of a motherly love.  After I was married, she taught me how to sew, how to can fruits, vegetables.  I remember one winter night, when she had stayed up and made the most delicious homemade vegetable beef soup I’ve ever had.  Probably because we were out winter camping and she had a strong feeling that we’d be back to the house sometime during the night, half frozen, which did occur.  She had the hot soup all ready and waiting.   I loved how she loved my children and her attachments to them.  I remember when I was 3 months pregnant with Ryan, we were all very sick with some flu bug and my body was threatening to lose Ryan.  The Dr put me on bedrest and because of the desperation of it all, I called her in the middle of the night to come help us.  She drove 6 hours in the night to our home in Indiana, arrived first thing in the morning and took over, nursing us all back to health, ensuring that I could follow Dr’s orders to stay off my feet and even took Tyler back with her for 2 more weeks while things settled down and healing could take place.  In my opinion, she saved Ryan so he could have a chance with life, and he’s been such a blessing to our family!   She wore many hats and for being so small in stature, her spirit was very large.  She ran a smooth household and knew what was important to manage and what little things were best to just let go and work out on their own.   I deeply admired her and the wisdom that she shared.  She really did make an imprint on my heart, and I have always loved her as a mother, no matter my status. You are loved beyond words and will be greatly missed.  Ruth, thank you for being there for me. I feel exceptionally honored to have known you in the ways that I was given!

May God's peace and comfort be with my Uncle Gerald Neil and my cousins, Steve, Kathy, Jeff, Doug, Tim, Joe, Cassie, and Ashley who mourn the loss of their wife and mother, Ruth (Benjamin) Neil.  May God's peace and comfort also be with all of her family and friends.

My Aunt Ruth was a very good truly Christian woman - you could see her faith in the Lord by her works which flowed from her faith.  She gave birth to five children and they adopted three more - she loved every one of them far more than words can tell.  I always knew I was welcome in her home.  I have no idea how many of her homemade chocolate chip cookies I ate over the years, nor how many slices of her delicious homemade bread I ate.  Her homemade chicken noodle soup is the best I have ever had - to this day - and perhaps that is because it was made and shared with so much love.  She was short so all the growing kids looked forward to the day when they were taller than Aunt Ruth - it was a hallmark of growing up.  She was always happy to see you when you walked in the door and odds are it would not be too long before she offered you a cookie or a slice of homemade bread. For years we got off the bus at Aunt Ruth's house and got on the bus there as well - because my Mom taught school - and Aunt Ruth was a stay at home Mom who lived just around the corner from us (half a mile by road). Many a mid-day lunch while deer hunting was ate at Aunt Ruth's house. Most of the time the Neil and Griffes families baled hay it would be Aunt Ruth driving the tractor pulling the baler. I have a LOT of good memories of Aunt Ruth.  And I am sure as her family mourns her passing here on Earth that family members who went before her greeted her with love on the other side.  

Praise God from whom all blessings flow for the fine example my Aunt Ruth was for me and everyone who had the privilege to be her family or friend. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!
