In 1972, Rich founded Westmoreland Construction, which he operated for over 50 years, building a legacy of hard work and integrity. He also served time in the National Guard. Rich had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, boating, and snowmobiling. He loved watching football, basketball and Nascar. He treasured his regular dinners with friends.
On July 16, 1966, he married the love of his life, Nancy (Cameron) Westmoreland, and together they shared a life full of love and commitment. Rich is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons, Troy (Susan) Westmoreland and Corey Westmoreland; grandchildren, Jessica (Julian) Delos Reyes, Taylor (Joseph) Kimichik, Cameron, Spencer, Keegan, and Max Westmoreland; and great-grandchildren, Adeline, Aurora, Eliza, and Greyson. He is also survived by step grandchildren Caleb (Taylor) and Kyler (Taylor) Denison; and step great-grandchildren, Camden, Jolee, and Coleson; sisters, Janice Westmoreland, Deanna Bogart and Cheryl Delaere; brother-in-law Wayne (Sue) Cameron and sister-in-law Patricia Nelson along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Madeline and Elwin Westmoreland.
Rich’s memory will live on in the lives of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Rich’s memorial service will be held on December 7, 2024 at 12:00 pm with a visitation one hour prior at Webberville United Methodist Church, 4215 Holt Road, Webberville, MI 48892.
