Our father, Morris (Bill) Clyde Lott, was born on January 4, 1927 and went to his heavenly home surrounded by his loving family on May 20, 2017 at the age of 90. He was the son of Clyde and Cora (Willams) Lott. Bill was a graduate of Williamston High School, class of 1945. After graduation he married his high school sweetheart Alice Joan Ording in 1948 and together they established “Happy Acres Farm” on Morrice Road in Webberville where they raised five children. He was a lifetime farmer and master carpenter and a jack of all trades who could fix or build anything he set his mind to. He was an active member of St. Mary Church in Williamston, longtime member of All Color Tractor Club and especially loved John Deere Green, FFA alumni member and 4-H leader. His interests included hunting on the family farm, swapping stories with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, collecting and restoring antique farm equipment.
Many hours were spent in his favorite woodworking shop creating heirloom pieces and passing on his many talents. Dad greatly enjoyed spending time with and bragging about his large family. He is predeceased by his parents, beloved wife Alice of 68 years, infant son John Matthew, son-in-law John Swain, sisters Marjorie, Ethel, Maxine, and brother Charles. Surviving to cherish his memory are his children: Marsha Swain, Mark (Mary) Lott, Tom Lott, Maureen (Dave) Watcher, Monica (Bill) Troshak, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, and more on the way, brothers-in-law, Gale Ellsworth, Joseph (Nancy) Ording, sister-in-law Mary Kremer and many nieces, nephews and friends.
