Edmund Francis Reaume (Ed), age 71, passed away on July 5 with his wife and son by his side. Ed’s occupation was a carpenter and he did various kinds of carpentry throughout his life, but his specialty was trim carpentry, cabinet making and making furniture. He was talented, his work was beautiful, and he was a perfectionist with his craft. Ed took great pleasure in fishing, hunting, playing the guitar and mandolin and listening to bluegrass music. He especially enjoyed these things when his son Matt became old enough to join him in these activities. He also enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and mowing the lawn on his garden tractor. Both Ed and Jan loved being by the Great Lakes and spent many days as a couple and as a family at one of them. Their favorite spots were on Lake Huron, the Sunrise Side and Waugoshance Point on Lake Michigan in Wilderness State Park near Mackinaw City.
Ed is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jan Reaume, his son, Matthew Reaume, daughter-in-law, Sarah Steslicki Reaume, grandson, Marek Edmund Reaume and granddaughter Sophie AnnMarie Reaume. He is also survived by his five sisters - Diane (Roger) Thelen, Mary Reaume, Patty (Tony) Ferretti, Susie Reaume and Carol (Mike) Arens and his five brothers Joe Reaume, Gerard (Debbie) Reaume, Dave (Julie) Reaume, Richard Reaume and John Reaume; as well as eleven nieces, twelve nephews and several grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Charlotte and Elwood Reaume and 2 brothers, Michael Reaume and Bobby Reaume.
