Dr. Terry Henry Hake, age 83, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024. He was born December 25, 1940 in York, Pennsylvania. Terry is preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Marie Bupp; his father, Henry Milton Hake; and his wife, Rachel Ann Hake.
Terry graduated from Gettysburg College in 1963 and joined the Army as a Transportation Corp officer. Terry then went on to attend Temple Dental School and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1969. While serving on active-duty Terry attended the U.S. Army War College, the Command General Staff College, the Armed Forces Staff College and the Advanced Management Program at Standford University. In total Terry served in the Army for 32 years and retired as a Colonel. Upon retiring from the Army, Terry practiced dentistry in Williamsburg from 1996 until his death.
He enjoyed classic cars, antiques, and European and Civil War History. He loved his work and his family.
Terry is survived by his daughters, Dena Reed (Earl) and Paula Scholz (Tim); his grandchildren, David Hommer, Rachel Hommer, Katie Wrote, and Scotty Wrote.
A visitation for Terry will be held Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, Virginia 23188, followed by a service at 1:00 PM.
