Shirley Pauline Allen

Shirley Pauline Allen, age 91, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen III; daughter, Linda "Claretha" Brooks; parents, William and Leora Jones; and siblings, William Bernard Jones and Charles Earl Jones.

Shirley worked for many years in the Healthcare Industry, and was always willing to help others out. She enjoyed bingo, going on cruises, and attending church. Shirley was a devoted member of the Chickahominy Baptist Church, Toano, VA.

She is survived by her children, George Edward Allen, Kerman "Alphonzo" Allen (Helen), Veranica "Selina" Jordan, Steven Ervin Allen (Ramona), James Allen IV, William Robert Allen (Karon); 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 16 great great-grandchildren; cousins, Audrey Simpson, Helen Simpson, and Edith Bowman; best friend, Nancy Trautman; as well as a large extended family.

The family would like to thank everyone who took care of Shirley and showed their love and care for her, especially the staff at Consulate Healthcare.

Visitation will take place on Friday, June 2 from 11:00am - 1:00pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, where the service will follow at 1:00pm.
