Richard proudly served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He loved anything to do with cars, and spent many years working in the automotive industry. He also loved trains, and had been collecting train magazines since 1981. He was especially fond of steam trains, and even planned trips to see them.
Easy going and down to earth, Richard enjoyed traveling and visiting his beach house in Ocean City, Maryland. Because he loved to research and learn new things, Richard knew a lot about many things.
He will be missed by his wife, Carol Hinton; his children, Marianne Goodwin (Thomas) and Westley Hinton (Leslie); grandchildren, Noel Goodwin, Chloe Goodwin, Audrey Hinton, and Ann Hinton; and his siblings, David Hinton (Nancy), Melanie Hinton, and James Hinton (Jane).
