Kathleen Barnes

Kathleen Barnes, of Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away on October 10, 2022. Born and raised in DC, Kathleen attended Georgetown Visitation. She married her high school sweetheart, and they raised their family of three children in Adelphi, Maryland. She and her husband retired to Grasonville, Maryland. Kathleen relocated after her husband’s passing and has lived in Williamsburg, Virginia for the last 20 years. Kathleen was an active member of St. Olaf Catholic Church. She loved traveling and spending time at the beach in Ocean City, Maryland; she also loved shopping for bargains at flea markets and antique stores, planting flowers around her home, playing bridge with her friends, and spending time with her eleven grandchildren and asking them “twenty questions” and, of course, being with her beloved dog, Charlie. Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Barnes; and her beloved sister, Jane E. Cahill. She is survived by her son, Billy (LeeAnn); her daughters, Christine (Gregg Stoehr), and Allison (Chris Walsh); her eleven grandchildren, Christa Anderson (Phil), Jessica Lindemuth (Ryan), Michael Stoehr (Tori), Randy Stoehr, Jenna Stoehr, Billy Barnes, Ashley Barnes, Connor Walsh, Gavin Walsh, Annabelle Walsh, and Rowen Walsh; her great-grandchildren, Brooks and Jack Lindemuth, Wells and Cole Anderson; as well as her nieces and nephews, Michael Cahill, Jenny Pullins, Jeff Cahill, and Matthew Cahill. A Funeral mass will be held for Kathleen in Williamsburg on October 19, 2022 at 1 p.m. at St. Olaf Catholic Church; a visitation will be held on October 21, 2022, at Frances J. Collins Funeral Home in Silver Spring, Maryland, beginning at 10 a.m. and followed by a graveside ceremony at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at noon.
