Born on January 19, 1954, in Libertyville Illinois, Joan was the third of six children. From an early age, she had a yearning to know and love her heavenly Father, God. While in high school, she started Bible studies and taught Christian bible fellowships in school and friends' homes. After High School Joan attended Gateway Technical Institute in Kenosha Wisconsin. She received an Associate of Applied Science degree in Interior Design.
In 1974-1975 Joan took part in a one-year missionary commitment being sent to Kentucky and in 1975 began a three-year Leadership training program, starting with residence at The Way College in Emporia Kansas. The campus was newly acquired, and she became very involved with redecorating the interiors. After another campus acquisition, she again was able to use her interior design abilities. During this time, she also helped in the interior design of a ministry aircraft. She loved color, fabrics, accessorizing, and was good at it.
After the three year program, on July 28, 1978, she married Frank Pavlica, who was in the same program as her. Joan and Frank actually met in 1973 in Ohio and became good friends while in residence at the campuses. After marrying at the campus in Rome City, Indiana, Joan and Frank moved away from the cold weather of Illinois (which she was not fond of) to the warmer climate of Maryland and later in Virginia for the last 31 years.
For most of her career Joan was a real estate agent, working for several companies including Prudential and Fords Colony Realty.
Joan served as the coordinator for the Arts & Culture in Community Services Programs for the Womens Club of Williamsburg
She enjoyed gourmet cooking, reading (she was always learning), decorating, and spending time at the beach. She was a vital member of The Church of the body of Christ. It was always Joans heart to share Gods Word with anyone she met, and help people get closer to God. She yearned to draw closer to God. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Ervin Krajecki; mother Teresa Krajecki and her sister Lois McDermott.
She is survived by her husband Frank C Pavlica, daughters Kristy Pavlica, Carrie Choe (Neil), and Sarah DelGado; grandchildren, Calliope Hipple and Emma Lee Choe; sisters, Beth Hendel, Diane Moles, and Lynn Norris; and brother, Alan Krajecki.
