James Neal Linkenauger

James Neal Linkenauger, 63, of Lanexa, VA, passed away Wednesday, December 12th. His father, Mont Miller Linkenauger, II, preceded him in death. James graduated from the University of Virginia with a BS in Accounting in 1978. He was a great athlete and played as a defensive lineman for the UVA football team. He worked as a management consultant for American Management Services, Inc. for 17 years and held a CPA license for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Jim’s hobbies included fishing, club car racing and travelling. He also loved to play tennis every week with his wife Julia and was a member of the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center. Jim also enjoyed boating and taking his youngest daughter, Sofia, with him. He also loved to spend time on the Chickahominy River with his extended family. Jim is survived by his wife, Julia Linkenauger; son, James Neal Linkenauger, Jr.; daughters, Elizabeth Linkenauger Segaar, Sally Ann Linkenauger and Sofia Michelle Linkenauger; grandchildren, Colton Emory Linkenauger, Lyla Linkenauger and Casey James Segaar; mother, Virginia Cottrell Linkenauger; and brothers, Mont Miller Linkenauger, III and David Lynn Linkenauger, Sr.; and his two beloved dogs, Elvis and Wolfgang. The service in Jim’s honor will be held Thursday, December 20th, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg to begin at 2pm with a catered reception to follow.
