James Thomas Davis, Jr., 75, of Williamsburg, VA passed away on June 4, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas Davis, Sr., and Catherine Sherwood Davis.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn Ferguson Davis; son, Sainte Deon Robinson; by three adoring sisters, Lillian Duffie, Flora Femiani, and Louise Lawson; and several nieces and nephews who will miss Uncle Buster greatly.
Jim enjoyed earning his education at Virginia Commonwealth University with his wife and devoted partner Carolyn by his side. He had a career in banking and later established his own successful business, Summit Financial. He took a great deal of pleasure in mentoring others into their own successful businesses and lives. Many such stories are just now beginning to emerge upon the news of his passing.
Jim and Carolyn loved travelling together and made frequent trips to Hilton Head, SC, as well as Las Vegas, New York City, and Hawaii. At various times, they made their home in Lynchburg, Chesterfield, Petersburg, and Elizabeth City, NC before settling in Williamsburg. Carolyn was by Jim’s side throughout his long struggle with cancer and made certain that all his needs were met, for which his family will always be grateful.
No service is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VCU Massey Cancer Center or to New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 2489 Lewis B. Puller Memorial Highway, Saluda, VA 23149.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.NelsenWilliamsburg.com for the Davis family.
