Donald Carl Nelson

Donald Nelson, 96, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in Williamsburg, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Albin Nelson and Evelyn Erickson Nelson; son, Eric Nelson; son, Robert Nelson; and granddaughter, Sarah Nelson (daughter of Robert and Cynthia). Donald proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was later employed by Crown Cork and Seal Company as an engineer. A member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, he also enjoyed playing golf, bowling, corn hole, and visiting family and friends. In his younger days, he and his wife Jeanne, loved to travel and go dancing. Donald was a very good dancer! Survivors include his wife, Jeanne; son, Paul Nelson; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Nelson (Eric Nelson dec.); daughter-in-law, Cynthia Nelson (Robert Nelson dec.); and grandchildren, Matt, Katie, Zachary, Keith, Kyle, Elizabeth, Peter, and Timothy. A visitation will be held Sunday, September 25th from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg. The service will be Monday, September 26th beginning at 11:00AM also at Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg.
