Tony was born on October 30, 1927 in Long Island City, New York to Joseph and Esther (Colapinto) Mascia. He served as a U.S. Army Sergeant during WW II, instructing men in basic military training. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1952. On May 30, 1958, he married the former Virginia Lee Monroe in Kansas City. Tony’s entire professional career was spent as a Mechanical Engineer for Westinghouse Electric Corporation. After retiring, he took great satisfaction in playing the role of volunteer handyman for whomever needed help; he loved tinkering and lending a hand to others. For many years, Tony was an avid boater who enjoyed sailing and working on his wooden Grand Banks trawler. He also enjoyed volunteering in the community where he and his wife, Virginia, resided. Mostly, Tony cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren.
An extremely loving husband and father, Tony is survived by his wife, Virginia, daughters Suzan Yuvan and husband, Alan, of Greensburg, PA; Jane Carbonneau and husband, Rick, of Charlton, Massachusetts; and son John of Atlanta, GA; as well as two granddaughters, Shelly and Lindsay and two grandsons, Brett and Justin. Tony also had three great-grandchildren and a niece Dyanne, a brother Frank and a sister Angela, both of Bristol, CT. His sister Margaret McCarthy preceded him in death.
Tony will be deeply missed by his entire family and all of his many friends.
