Ed was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, March 31, 1939. When he was five, his family moved to Burbank, California where he resided until he joined the military in 1963, combining two years in the Navy with four years in the Air Force.
In 1973, Ed and Cleo moved to Punta Gorda, Florida. Ed taught high school math for ten years and coached the tennis team. Then, due to his love for the game of tennis, he built and operated the Rio Paz Tennis Center in Punta Gorda.
Ed and Cleo moved to The Villages in 2003 where they continued to embrace tennis and the joy of friendships found there.
Ed lived in the moment, did not worry about the past, and just wanted to make each day count. He believed exercise and pets were the cure for all ailments, and filled his days with both. Ed’s terrific sense of humor was always present and he will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Cleo of fifty-seven years, daughter, Tracy, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Ed’s celebration of life will be held at Dignity Memorial Life Celebration Center, 7134 Powell Rd., Wildwood, Florida, Thursday, March 28th at 11:00.
