18, 2023. She was born on June 9, 1932 in Cottenwood, Arizona to the late George Arthur and Maude (Colbert) Dickinson.
Bonnie spent her early years in Arizona. She married her soulmate, Dale Petersen, on September 30, 1950 and lived in The Keys for over 40 years before moving to Leesburg in 1998.
She was a homemaker that took great pride in taking care of her husband and daughter. Bonnie was very artistic as she sewed and crocheted many creations that were gifts for her family and friends. She was talented in stained glass and music. She taught herself to play the piano and the accordion. Bonnie was known for her yummy fudge and bourbon balls during the Christmas season. She loved animals, especially dogs, cats and birds but even had a soft spot for all things with a heartbeat, including spiders and lizards.
Bonnie is preceded in death by parents, George and Maude; brother, William Dickinson and her son-in-law, Robert Huffman.
She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Dale Petersen; daughter, Kari Huffman; two grandchildren, Jennifer Huffman Mira and Robert Charles Huffman; three great grandchildren, Isabel Paez Mitchell, Steven Mira, Jr., Austin Mira and one great great grandson, S.J. Mitchell.
