William was born June 10, 1927 in Rogers, Arkansas, a son of Paul and Lydia Belle (Lankford) Potts. He served his country in the Air Force in World War II and in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
William was united in marriage in March of 1956 to his loving wife, Berniece Ann (Myers) in Wichita, Kansas and to this union two daughters were born, Katherine and Sandra.
Bill was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family whom he loved greatly. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wichita, KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Jerry Potts, Chuck Potts, Charles Dixon and his sister, Delores Rose.
He is survived by his loving wife, Berniece; daughters Katherine Walker, Sandra (Travis) Littlejohn; grandchildren Kasandra (Ash) Erickson, Kalissa (Jeremy) Kootz, Miles Wedel, Lauren Wedel and his great-grandchildren Bryan and Henry Erickson; brothers David (Norma) Potts, Gary (Carolyn) Potts, Johnny (Carol) Potts; sisters Joyce (Gene) Turner and Glenda Isles.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 7:00 P.M. on Monday (February 20, 2023)
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday (February 21, 2023) both at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wichita, Kansas. Interment will follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Schulte, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Williams’ name may be made out to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
