Stephen Gilbert Roe

73, died unexpectedly September 28, 2021 at his home in Wichita, Kansas. He was born May 7th, 1948 in Springfield, MO, the son of John G. Roe and Wilma Jo (Doss) Roe.

Steve was a graduate of Wichita High School West in 1966. Where he was an avid football player for Wichita West High School. After high school, Steve attended Wichita State University until he joined the United States Army. Steve served his country with the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry, 7th Infantry Division. He is a veteran of the Korean War.

Steve married Linda (Pitman) Roe in 1982. Together they raised 5 children. He was the owner of Thompson Crawley Furniture Rental for 24 years and General Sales Manager at Scholfield Honda, until he retired in 2011. Steve loved golfing, telling football stories, playing poker, coaching baseball, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas

Steve is preceded in death by his father, John G Roe. Steve leaves behind his wife, Linda S. Roe of 40 years. He also leaves behind his mother, Willa (Joe) Roe, Sister, Ann Roe Williams (Roy), Sons Thomas Roe (Pam) and Kurt Roe. Step-Daughter, Lesley Pendergraft (Sean), Step-sons Sean Barker (Heidi) and Adam Pendergraft (Tasha). As well as several grand-children.

A memorial fund has been established at Wichita West High School Alumni Association and the Hall of Fame Project.

The Service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, October 4th at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church. 1241 N.Ridge Road, Wichita, KS 67212
