Michaelis, Scott E., 50, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Sunday August 5, 2018 in Boulder, Colorado. Scott was born the son of Eugene and Elizabeth (Schumaker) Michaelis on September 18, 1967 in Topeka, Kansas. Scott was united in marriage to Susan Stone on October 8, 1994 in Wichita. Scott worked at Shelley Electric in Wichita for 26 years as an Estimator/Engineer and most recently as a purchasing agent. He grew up in St. Marys and graduated from St. Marys High School in 1986. He played baseball at Neosho County Community College and graduated from Kansas State University in 1992. Scott met Susan at KSU and together they have enjoyed over 30 years of KSU football and were members of the Wichita Catbackers Club. He was an active member of the Church of the Magdalen and the Knights of Columbus. Scott was very active and enjoyed training with the T3 Triathlon Club and had participated in a variety of competitions. He especially loved coaching youth sports and watching his own daughters compete. His hobbies included woodworking, barbequing, photography, fantasy football, walking his dogs and drinking QT tea. His immediate and large extended family relied on Scott as a leader in planning, problem solving, cooking and so much more. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth grandparents, Frank and Irene Michaelis and Lawrence and Cecelia Schumaker. Survivors include his loving wife, Susan Michaelis, daughters, Megan, Emily, Sara Claire, father, Eugene, siblings, Kimberly (Scott) Harrison, Shawn (Mandy) Michaelis, Kaylynn (Josh) SinghDhillon and 7 nieces and 2 nephews. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. on Friday August 10, 2018. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday August 11, 2018 both at Church of the Magdalen, 12626 E. 21st St. N., Wichita, KS 67206. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. Memorial Contributions can be made in honor of Scott to the American Cancer Society or The Lord's Diner of Wichita.
