Hello it was searching my Facebook profiles and ran into this obituary for Richard sipe my condolences for your loss,my name is Rick sipe!!!

Dick was always a joy to be around. I have fond memories of our days at NCR.  Dick loved to share stories of he and Grace’s times spent at their visitors lodge in Estes Park. 

Boy, where do I start on how much I looked up to this man? To those of you who dont know, I am proudly, one of Richards grandchildren. Ever since I can remember as a kid, visiting my Grandad (and Grace), was something I cherished and enjoyed every minute of. The way he brought laughter and his big smile into the room, lit up everyone around him no matter what as soon as he entered, you could not be in a bad mood or have anything negative to say. He was just that kind of man, one that was able to cheer up everyone and always, I mean ALWAYS, had a positive attitude and he truly touched many peoples lives, some big and some small. I cant express in words the amount of respect I had for my Grandad, and how much I wish I could get one more day to spend with him, building the model trains in his basement, or going to the park to lift off model rockets, or the numerous Hobby Town trips we made together. Not once can I think of a single time I didnt enjoy being around him in my 30 years. I didnt get as much time with him as I wouldve liked to, but I hope he knows that I dearly love him, hope he is at peace, and pray that he watches over all of us. Rest in peace Grandad, and enjoy being with Grace and Grand mommy again.

We have great memories of working with Richard and Grace  at Cascade Cottages and socializing with them at home.   His death closes a chapter in the lives of many colleagues and friends.  

Dear Richard,
I am waiting this letter while on vacation in Florida with my wife, Kathy, and our best friends.  Kathy and I want to thank you for being a wonderful man whose walk with God touched our lives.
We loved our Aunt Grace.  You were the answer to prayers that she be loved by someone who was as loving as she.
While growing up with my parents in Augusta, KS, my grand parents LV and Hazel Davis helped shape our lives.  We are full of gratitude in our hearts by your presence at Cascade Cottages in Rocky Mountain National Park as a steward in “God’s Place”.
As we awoke early this morning, we heard the wind outside moving through the beautiful trees with a gentle reminder of the life you led.
We know you are happy to be reunited in Heaven with the Mother of your children and with your beloved Grace!

We are very sorry to hear of Richard's passing. Moe & I had the pleasure of working for Grace & Richard at Cascade Cottages from 1999 to Jul 2014.  We loved them both.

My Father was the best man I’ve ever met. He always put others first before himself. As I watched him through the years of taking care of my Mother who was sick for many years and then Grace, I realized that he did enjoy being the care giver. He was always so happy and strong, but I do have to say he was so stubborn. I realized he was that way when I took care of him after his rotator cuff surgery. He definitely wanted to be in control of the situation and never complained about being in pain. I asked him if I could do anything else it how is pain was, his response was, “No I’m ok.”
That was his response to almost everything and everyone. 
Probably the best time I had with him
was when we went to the state parks in Utah and Arizona and hiked. My dad picked me up the airport and on our way to Moab, Utah we almost ran out of gas. We did make it there but on fumes. The next day we did the hike of the arches. We read the trail map and how long it was to the top and back.  Dad. we need a lot of water and snacks to do this hike. My Dad has his coffee cup full of water, probably only around 16oz. Of course he said, “ I’ve got this water, let’s do it!” Oh geez that wasn’t a good idea but away we went. Wow, what a beautiful hike and everyone was talking to us and was amazed at how well my Dad was doing at 86! We finally made it to the top, now the adventure of going back down. The entire hike took us over 5 hours! I told him we are never doing that again because I’m going to get water and a a lot of snacks for the next one! We had such a great time together! 
Dad just showed so much love to everyone and his family came first. He was the perfect description of a great Gentleman, Father, and Grandad! He loved spending time with his grandchildren and I’ll never forget the tea party’s he had with Lexi. They would go up on our third floor in South Carolina and she would get all dressed up for it. Absolutely so precious, she even put a crown on him one time! 


So many favorite times.   Most special was our dance we shared, hearing Richard singing to our song as we danced & his smile. 
His smile would lite up the room.    I am blessed & honored to have been part of Richard's life.
