Clark, Richard F. ‘Dick,’ 87, retired military helicopter technician and aircraft machinist, devoted husband, selfless father, and amazing grandfather, peacefully passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014. Dick, the youngest of 7 children, was born to Arthur and Bertha on November 7, 1926 in Stryker, OH. As the youngest, he learned to eat fast and stay out of trouble. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the military and was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base. It was here in Wichita where he fell in love with and married his soul mate, Dorene, on October 6, 1951. Together, they raised two children, Christopher Clark and Linda Clark Bales, who blessed them with 9 grandkids and 14 great-grandchildren. His retirement years were spent treasure hunting at garage/estate sales, spending time with his family at his river cabin fishing, and sharing the crossword puzzle with Grandma. His wit, ornery sense of humor, knowledge of all things interesting, and unconditional love for his family will be missed by those lucky enough to call him Sweetie, Dad, Grandpa, and Handsome. Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Thursday; Service: 1:30 p.m. Friday, both at Hillside Funeral Home East. Burial to follow at White Chapel.
