Regina Fay Dunbar

Regina Fay Dunbar aka "Grandma Gina", passed away at age 85 on Monday, May 23, 2022, after courageously battling health issues for the last year. She was a loving, talented, beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many who will greatly miss her.

Regina was born to Flavil and Wanda Dickey September 7, 1936, in rural Arkansas. She eventually moved with her family to Wichita, Kansas where she spent her school years. She graduated from Wichita State University where she pursued her interest in art, along with meeting and marrying the love of her life, Richard Dunbar, in 1957. They were married for almost 61 years before his death in 2018. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother Gary Dickey.

Regina was dearly loved and will be missed by many friends and close relatives, including son Mark Dunbar, daughter Lori Oleson, "favorite son-in-law" Chris Oleson, brother Terry Dickey and sister-in-law Shirley Wilson (Mike). Her grandchildren, nieces and nephews were very special to her. Grandchildren include, Donald Dunbar (Tiajuana), Chris Dunbar (Mary), Elissa Additon (Jack), Stephanie Coldwell (Jeremy), Wendi Dunbar (Callie Parham), Jordan Oleson, Brendan Oleson (Alisa) and Sarah Swartz. Her great and great-great grandchildren include; Alexis, Braedan, Trista, D.J., Caelan, Tyler, Logan, Richie, Hailee, Ava, Crew and Ana'leya. Nieces and nephews include; Jennifer Shepherd (Brian), Ryan Wilson (Haley), Kim List (Jordan) and Matt Dickey.

Her greatest joys were the time spent with family and friends, especially at the cabin in Divide, Colorado. She was a talented artist, avid reader, wonderful cook and above all a selfless person who always put others first. She will be greatly missed, but we'll keep her memory alive. This is not goodbye, just but a brief pause, until we meet again...

Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 11:00am at Riverwalk Church of Christ 225 N Waco Avenue, Wichita, Kansas 67202.
