Phyllis grew up on a farm outside of Sharon, Kansas. After attending St. Boniface Grade School, she graduated from Sharon High in 1954. She went on to attend nursing school at St. Joseph School of Nursing and became a registered nurse in 1957.
Phyllis worked as an RN before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1966. One of her proudest accolades was earning the rank of Captain in the Air Force.
In 1977, Phyllis was united in marriage to Harold Davis until his passing in 1979.
Those who knew Phyllis best, will remember her for her love of ballroom dancing, socializing, and family get-togethers.
Phyllis was a lifetime member of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. She was actively involved in many organizations within the church and served faithfully.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, brothers Tom, Randy, and Jerry Ricke, sisters Ruth Blick, Betty Lantzy, and Carolyn Hrencher.
Phyllis is survived by siblings JoAnn Rinke, Delmar (Beverly) Ricke, Kenneth Ricke, Lou (Nancy) Ricke, Steve Ricke, Kathleen (Joe) Hart, Ron (Sheila) Ricke, Jan (Neil) Feld, Dorene Reeves, and many precious nieces and nephews.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 9:30 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception located at 430 N. Broadway St., Wichita, KS 67202. following will be a burial at St. Boniface Cemetery, 3174 Plum Thicket Rd., Sharon, KS 67138.
