You could always count on Pete to wear something wild to the GVG Christmas Party!

I had just came back to work after a long time off after having my heart attack. I had an eye exam the week I came back and I will never forget what Pete did. He set his clipboard down and didn't say a word when he gave me the best hug ever. He didn't need to say anything because that hug said it all. Pete was such a kind and compassionate person and I will miss him very much. I love you Pete!

As a Christian I am confident that Pete is resting securely in the hands of the Savior of the world for all eternity. I am praying that all those grieving the loss of an incredible man will turn, like Pete did during his treatment, to God. I had the honor of working with Pete or as I would call him “Peter” at grene vision. I can truly say that he was an employee to look up to, always positive, smiling, and bringing energy to every office. He cared tremendously about our patients and staff. I will never forget him holding our elderly staff arms down the hall or our mini dance battles between patients (which he always won by the way). Sending my prayers to his family and friends. I think I speak on behalf of all of his coworkers when I say it has been a true blessing to have worked with Pete.

I am extremely saddened to hear of Pete passing away; especially at such a young age. As a patient at his vision center, for many years, I can attest to the professionalism Pete always extended to me.  Always polite, courteous and respectful-- which means a lot to this Vietnam veteran. I miss him already and I pray for his family and especially the children. Rest now in Gods embrace Pete. Pete had a way of lighting up a place wherever he was and no matter what was going on in his life. When I first started my job, he made sure to check on how I was getting along. Every time he passed my department he made sure to make a silly face or comment just to spread some of those good vibes my way. People like that are a tremendous gift. I barely knew him yet he made a huge impact on me in the workplace and I will miss seeing his face. So for those who were a part of his intimate circle, especially his wife and kids, know that his love for you was immeasurable. There is a part of him in each of you that will never leave. I pray the Lord comfort you in this time and give you special moments of joy whenever you think of Pete.

The last time I saw Pete was a month or so before his heartbreaking diagnosis. He waved to me from across the parking lot along with that great big smile of his. That's how I will remember Pete... positive, cheerful, uplifting to others. I feel so blessed to have crossed paths with him. He was always a joy to be around and will forever be missed.

I worked with Pete when I filled in at the maize office a few times but didn’t know him personally!
He always was so friendly and had a big smile on his face! God gained another angel in heaven where there no more pain to bare! He is still around us we just don’t know it! RIP my friend! 🙏🙏

Pete was like a brother to me. Always ready to help or support me even from 600 miles away. He was the kind of person who could just effortlessly be an amazing dad, an excellent husband, and a spectacular friend. He was the kind of person that I strive to be: strong but easy going, childish but mature, and living life with such a brightness and happiness that it was impossible to be sad or stressed when he was around. Right now, the world is a lot darker because his light has moved on. But I know that he’s watching and waiting for the right time to send some ridiculous event my way that will have me laughing hysterically for no reason. Maybe this whole thing is just a way for him to be able to brighten up even more people’s lives without being hindered by the limit of existing in one place at a time. I love you bro. And I miss you so much. But don’t worry, I’ll be laughing again soon because I know that’s what you would want.

Pete was loved and highly respected   by all at Grene Vision Group from administration, doctors and all staff members along with the patients he took care of.  From his friendly smile, his crazy costumes he wore for Halloween or Christmas parties and selling Girl Scout cookies for his daughters, everyone LOVED Pete.  I know he has been greatly missed over the past few months and will for years to come.  I pray for God to hold his family and close friends to hold them in the Palm of His hands as they learn to live without him.  Rest in Peace cherished friend.

You were so funny, polite, genuine, you never met a stranger, smart, just an all around nice guy. My  heart and prayers go out to your family.

I am so incredibly sorry to hear that Pete passed away.  I graduated with him at North, and I can genuinely say he was one of the nicest, funniest, most genuine people I have known.  It breaks my heart that such a good, kind soul was taken so young.  I'm so sorry to his wife, daughters, mom, and other family.  I cannot imagine the pain you are feeling.  Know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many people, as he touched a lot of lives, and there are many, many people in the world who are better for having known him.  Rest easy, Pete.  You'll be missed down here.

I’ve known Pete through a friend for over 20 years. We all know Pete jokes and talks smack.  I recently spent a weekend with him back in 2022 and I was amazed to see his growth he had made as an adult. We had an amazing conversation about real life things  and it felt like I finally spoke to the real Pete.  I’d have to say that was the moment I will always remember and cherish. A simple drive at the lake to a couple of pizza joints where we had all the time in the world while we waited for our pizza to be made.

My name is Stephan Cahill. I new Pedro through online on xbox. I may of only known him for almost two years, but they were the best two years a friend can ask for. We always had fun playing and making each other laugh. When I first heard the news about his diagnosis, I was hoping for the best of him beating the cancer, but to hear the news of his passing put a heavy weight on my heart. The only positive thing of this outcome is that he is no longer suffering. I will always cherish and remember the fun times we had online. My deepest condolences goes out to his family. Pedro knew it was no secret that I am not religous in the same faith as him. But that never stopped us from being close. I am also writing to show me condolences and respect for him as a person of being amazing. I sadly can not attend his funeral to pay my respects to and amazing person and an amazing father to his kids and spouse to his wife. He will be greatly missed and I will not dwell on how he passed, but will remember how he lived, his willingness to make others laugh and have a good time, his ability to understand others and bring those around him having a bad day and turning it into a great day. There will be no one who can replace Pedro. May we take a moment of silence to embrace that he is no longer suffering, but is at peace knowing that he was greatly loved in every way.

I was a patient at Green optical, but most of all I had the pleasure of being a friend and visiting quite often with Pete over the years. He is one of the nicest, kindest, joyous personalities I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.  Pete placed  his stamp on so many of us.  Please accept my condolences and always remember Pete will be tucked away in our hearts  and our minds and  a  safe  place of Beautiful memories.  He will be greatly missed. . It has been a long while since the last time I had the opportunity to speak with Pete and with hearing this I regret never telling him thank you for everything he did for me.  One of the funniest and kindest people I have ever met, Pete was always a shoulder to lean on or an ear to open up to.  Condolences to his family.  He was the best.
