Celebrating a century of memories, we announce the passing of, Opal "Jackie" Jacqueline (Dove) Sell, age 100, who passed on Monday, November 18, 2024, in Wichita, Kansas. She was born in Fredonia, Kansas on June 5, 1924, the only child of the late Charles Lynn and Opal Katherine Donart.
Growing up in Fredonia, Jackie made lasting memories with classmates she met while attending and receiving her diploma from Fredonia High School.
Meeting Ronald Dean Sell was a highlight of her life and together, they proudly welcomed three children into their family with, Sharilyn, Bruce, and Kerry. Having a family was one of Jackie’s greatest joys and one that continued throughout her life when children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren arrived too.
Though family kept her busy, she was a popular self-employed beautician. This was a career she took pride in, yet she still made time for herself, taking a single strand of thread and used it to knit, quilt, and crochet works of art to be passed down over generations.
Those left to honor her memory are children, Bruce (Becky) Sell and Kerry (Diane) Sell; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Rejoicing in eternal freedom, Jackie now joins those gone before including, her parents, Charles and Opal, her husband, Ronald; daughter, Sharlyn Burkhead; and granddaughter, Heather Maddy.
Please join us as we celebrate a generation of memories, on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Resthaven Mortuary. A visitation will be one hour prior to the 3 PM service and a committal service will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Garden of Good Shepherd.
