Linda Jane Murphy

Linda Jane (Walker) Murphy, 83, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born September 5, 1940 in Jackson, Mississippi, the daughter of James and Ann Walker.

Linda attended St. Joe High School in Jackson, Mississippi, where she was a PROUD Mississippi girl. During high-school, she met the love of her life, Darrell L. Murphy, then on January 31, 1957, they were united in marriage and had three children, Debra, Darrell and James.

Linda was a route delivery driver for Rainbow Bakery, then worked at Metro Courier Service where she was a faithful employee for 27 years before she retired. During her free time, Linda enjoyed going to casinos, and watching horse races. Her favorite times were spending time in the outdoors, including camping and riding in the boat on the lake. Linda's life was revolved around her family whom she loved greatly.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, James and Ann; daughter, Deb; along with her son, Darrell.

She is survived by: her loving husband of 67 years, Darrell; her son, James; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be held 3:00 P.M. on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Resthaven Mortuary & Gardens of Memory, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209. Visitation and viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
