Larry Robbins, age 82, retired from Boeing after 49+ years of service as an Engineer, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023. Larry was born June 7, 1940 to Clarence Durwood Robbins and Helen Birch (Finnell) Robbins in Roanoke, Missouri.
In 1962 Larry married his high school sweetheart Bernita Toombs. Together they raised two sons and a daughter. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, boating, driving/restoring his Ford tractors and was a lifelong Cardinals fan. Above all, Larry loved spending time with his family and friends. Larry had been a former member at Sharon Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school and was one of the Deacons. He then became a member of NewSpring Church where he and Bernita continued their strong faith in God.
Preceded in death by his parents and wife of 59 years, Bernita Robbins of the home.
Survived by his sons, Doug (Heidi) Robbins and Joe Robbins both of Wichita, KS; daughter, Rebecca (Jeremy) Stover of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Maddie, Holly, Anna (Logan), Grace (Max), Audrey (Dakota), Libby, Troy (Skyler), Garrett, Todd, and Wyatt; great-grandchildren, Avery, Dawson, and Colton; brother, Bill Robbins; numerous nephews and nieces; as well as his beloved puppy Lizzie.
A visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, February 10, 2023, with a Celebration of Life service being held 9:30 am, Saturday, February 11, 2023 both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th Street N., Wichita, KS 67206.
